Parinirvana Zazenkai

Friday January 31, 5:45pm - 8:25pm & Saturday February 1, 7:30am - 4pm

We open the year with the Diamond Sutra, a precious teaching from the earliest Sangha, with the Buddha in dialog with one of the primary disciples of his time. During this day sit we will take a look at the exchanges between Subhuti and the Buddha, applying this learning to our own lives of zazen – both on and off the cushion.

Zazenkai begins Friday evening from 5:45pm - 8:30pm and continues Saturday 7:30am - 4:00pm. If we have 10 people or more we will hold a sesshin with oryoki. Lunch will be served traditional oryoki style in the zendo. If you do not plan to eat oryoki you may still attend and bring a bag lunch. If we have less than 10 people we will hold sesshin without oryoki.

PLEASE NOTE: the deadline to sign up for oryoki lunch is Friday, Jan 24. Fee is $30 ($40 if eating oryoki) or what you can comfortably afford. There is no fee for Friday evening.
