Connie Cummings, a resident priest of Zen Center completed five years of monastic training at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center and five years of priest training with Tenshin Reb Anderson at Green Gulch Farm. She was shuso (head student) with Tenshin Anderson at Green Gulch Farm in fall 2011. She is currently SFZC Board Secretary. Connie began practice in a lay sangha with Misha Merrill in Redwood City while working in software development and engineering in Silicon Valley. She has degrees in Management Information Systems and an MBA from University of Arizona. She is interested in developing a highly participatory and interactive centered teaching style and has taught Introductory Zen and Buddhism classes, and is a member of a peer-led Zen group. She trains for and participates in swimming, biking and running events and is a student of Tai Chi. Stargazing is one of her favorite things.
